- Estimating the value of the objects metallic content.
- Valuation of any precious stones contained in the item.
- Adding any value based on the dating, signature or historic period of the item.
THE CORRECT FORMULA IN ORDER TO EFFECTUATE AN ESTIMATION OF VALUE IS THE FOLLOWING:

The reason for selling to a jeweller, rather than to a gold buyer is that the latter only
buys to the price of the metal contained and will not add value for a signature, design or
time period of the item. The valuation will be based only on the metal value.
It is equally true that, even if an object has been signed by a prestigious firm, such as
"Bulgari", "Cartier", "Tiffany", or any other renowned firm, but is
still an object that has been produced in series, even with the famous brand name, it
remains an object produced in series. In such a case, the design value lies solely in the
pleasure of wearing the object.
